How To Make Earrings Out Of Buttons
Ever wonder what to do with those loose buttons you've seem to have accumulated in the back of your drawer? Here's a quick and easy d.i.y. tutorial on how to turn those buttons into a chic pair of earrings in no time flat!
What you'll need:
- Buttons, this tutorial uses buttons with plastic shank-backings
- Scissors
- Nail file
- Strong hold glue
- Earring backs, which you can find at any craft store
Step One:
With gentle pressure use the scissors to cut the shank off the button. Caution, to prevent any injury, do this step little by little. Close the blades of the scissors gently on one side, then turn it over and close the blades gently on the other side. Keep alternating until the shank cuts off.
Step Two:
File the excess part left from the shank so that the back is even and as flat as possible.
Step Three:
Glue the earring back onto the button. Apply a thin even layer of glue to the post. Trust me it will go a long way!
Step Four:
Repeat steps 1-3 on the second button. Let the button earrings dry 24 hours before trying them on.
